SPOs are experienced PMs who have demonstrated the ability to perform for multiple projects and teams.
Qualification for SPM is achieved utilizing commercial training and certification along with completion of the SPM JQR and panel interview.
SPM Duties Include:

Leads newly formed and/or immature teams, larger efforts involving a scrum of scrums, be assigned as front door staff, or oversee complex projects with subordinate and interrelated projects and teams.

Oversee, train, mentor and review the work of Basic PM's assigned to them.

Create and/or identify available training applicable to the PM work role.

Participates in panel interviews with candidate SPMs.
